After Dusk

My favourite time of day is just after the sun has set. Everything still has that slight warm glow and I swear it smells different to the day. Especially in summer, after the excessive heat of the day (which I am none too fond of) the dusk comes as sweet relief.

The dusk also brings with it the beginning of the night and a majority of my work day. I’m a definite night-owl, I swear it’s genetic. I’m much more productive when I don’t have emails and phone calls and the beautiful day that I want to be out enjoying distracting me.

However, there is one problem with taking photos after dusk is that you need to take a tripod with you, or in my case that little connector bit that you use to attach said tripod to your camera. I remembered both the camera and the tripod, but not that little connector bit.

With a little bit of leaning, and a little bit of slow breathing, I think I still did pretty alright.

Anyone else have a favourite time of day?

Daniel - Favourite time of the day is any that my daughter goes to sleep :) January 12, 2010 – 9:27 pm

Kyle - I am a night owl too, I totally feel you. Hence the reason why I’m commenting on your blog at 2am :)

Beautiful photo, btw.January 13, 2010 – 4:00 pm

Kirsten - This is so incredibly beautiful. My favorite time of day is almost the same – it’s as the sun is going down. I have a sort of obsession with taking sunset photographs. My favorites so far have been the ones I took in Mexico this past December.January 15, 2010 – 2:22 am

Kirsten - P.S. I really love your blog and the “I love Wednesdays”. Very creative!! :-) January 15, 2010 – 2:23 am

William Massey - I think my favorite time of day is sunrise, but only in Summer when it’s really warm in the morning. I too am a night owl, and usually not awake at sunrise, which makes it more special when I am.

Here’s another good one: 3:30 AM. I can ride through downtown of my city on my little scooter and not see a single soul. It’s like being the only person left alive on earth. Unusual but peaceful.January 15, 2010 – 7:15 am

Daniel Dunlap - I’d have to say my favorite time of day changes per the season. In summer my favorite time of day is just after dawn. It reminds me of when I used to wake up at first light and go play baseball with all my friends in the school yard until dusk.

During winter my favorite time of day is midday as the sun is highest in the sky. Where I am from, on a clear day there seems to be no better time of year for a perfectly clear blue sky then in winter.January 16, 2010 – 1:17 am

Vida Carson - Ah my favorite time of day is right before the sun starts to set.. when the light is nice and soft but so golden :) January 17, 2010 – 4:05 am

Joe Sanfilippo - My favorite time of day as well!January 17, 2010 – 12:49 pm
