Bel & David {Married}

From the very first email from Bel, I knew that we would be fast friends.The first time we met, it felt like a meeting with two old friends, we bonded over our mutual adoration of dumplings, kraft paper and wonderful buildings. There are some things that feel like fate, destiny, kismet, whatever you wish to call it and meeting Bel & David felt like an aligning of the planets to bring us all together.

Meeting Bel & David and now having the great blessing of calling them friends, I can’t imagine a couple more well suited to each other and more balanced. They have such a respect and a deep love that you can practically see how it binds them. Their ceremony was one of the most moving and intimate that I have ever witnessed with not a dry eye in the house (or garden, if you will).

Bel’s sister Hawa read from David and Bel’s favourite authors, Arundati Roy:

“The only dream worth having is to dream that you will live while you are alive, and die only when you are dead. To love, to be loved.
To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar disparity of the life around you.
To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair.
To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple.
To respect strength, never power. Above all to watch.
To try and understand. To never look away.
And never, never to forget.”

I can’t think of a more perfect way to describe Bel & David. Thank you both so much for finding me, allowing me to be a part such an intimate and wonderful celebration and thank you for your friendship.
