Kristin + Cory {Married | A Montrose Berry Farm Wedding}

I knew from the very first email that Kristin sent that their wedding was going to be something special, everything they did was just such a wonderful effort amongst them and their families to make their day wonderful! They were a little nervous about the ceremony and standing in front of their family & friends, so we did a first look before the ceremony with just the two of them seeing each other on their wedding day and I honestly cannot recommend it enough to couples! There’s nothing quite like seeing the person you love all dressed up and ready to get married and to be able to react in any which way that you feel like is just wonderful, intimate and natural.

Kristin & Cory were just so excited for their wedding day, and I was so excited to be able to document it. They were featured last Wednesday on the lovely Polka Dot Bride and below are some of the people who helped make their day the wonderful celebration that it was.

One Fine Day

There’s been a lot going on behind the scenes here at I Love Wednesdays and One Fine Day was a lovely little preview of some of the awesomeness that is to come! We used it as a little pre-launch of the new look. I was thinking about waiting for everything to be done before properly launching it, but I cannot describe the excitement I’ve felt and I just had to share it with everyone. This blog post was really supposed to wait as well, but again, EXCITEMENT. I’m like a ball of nervously excited energy and really, I had to share, both about the new look and also the wonderfulness that was One Fine Day.

I’m still not quite sure how to describe the craziness that it was and the booth. For a start, I didn’t realise how many other people loved dinosaurs, and how many people played with them too! Also, the new chalkboard pendant drew a lot of awesome comments and a lot of disbelief that I chalked that bad boy myself, and I have proof!

One Fine Day Sydney

I absolutely adore colour and warmth so the rest of the booth is designed really around everything that I love. This year, even more than last year, I wanted people to get a sense of what I Love Wednesdays is, how I work, and also a little bit of what I love with my love of cameras, typewriters and dinosaurs. I won’t lie, I was a bit worried about how whether everyone would like the dinosaurs, but who knew that so many people loved dinosaurs?! It was absolutely insanely wonderful pulling everything together with a huge thank you to everyone who helped, especially Justine Rose for putting together my lovely flowers at the last minute and helping out.

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by, said hello and had a bit of fun. I don’t think I’d ever spoken quite so much in my life and it was wonderful to meet so many gorgeous couples. What I absolutely adored was hearing about so many wedding days and seeing how people were working towards making their day so personalised and meaningful. There’s nothing that I love more than seeing how people’s style, family & history all come together to make their wedding day such a reflection of themselves.

All I have left to say is thank you and enjoy.

    I absolutely cannot wait for the new look to be launched!

    Also I’m curious who *doesn’t* like dinosaurs? They’re pretty much the definition of awesome…

Rosie & Josiah {married | A gorgeous handmade farm wedding}

I knew the moment that I met Rosie that she was a kindred spirit. There are people that you meet and it feels like they’re your oldest friends, that was how it felt meeting Rosie & then Josiah and all their family and friends. I knew her wedding day would be something special, because the warmth with which she spoke about Josiah and their relationship, and the way her eyes lit up was something so wonderful and I just knew that I had to be a part of their day!

Everything about Rosie & Josiah and their day was created with such loving care to make sure that it reflected who they were and that everyone had a rollicking good time. In the days before their wedding, the temperatures in Sydney skyrocketed, and Rosie & Josiah wanting to ensure that everyone was comfortable and could enjoy their day moved their ceremony back an hour so their family and friends wouldn’t have to be outside in the midst of the Sydney summer heat.

I’ve struggled a little bit to write about Rosie & Josiah’s day, because it was such a celebration of love and family, it really struck me how connected and close they all were. There were a lot of people that contributed to making Rosie & Josiah’s day a special and gorgeous celebration and below are some of their details.

Florist: Justine Rose
Rosie’s Dress: REDDOLL Designs by Tatyana Merenyuk

Rings: Custom-made by Jed of Argyle Street Fine Jewellery

Wedding Cake: Groom’s Aunt
Signs, Menu, Table Numbers, Welcome Sign: The First Snow
Stationery and Paper Goods: Rosie’s online store Fox & Foal

A Fine Day Indeed

As I’m getting everything together for this year’s One Fine Day wedding fair, I’m struck by how much things can change in just a year, and there certainly are changes afoot at I Love Wednesdays!

I’ve felt a little not quite 100% there with the current visual identity of I Love Wednesdays, there’s so much that I love about it, but seeing more and more hand drawn cameras around it feels like it doesn’t belong to me any more. I know that that’s silly, but it’s hard to see something you’ve put so much of yourself into be used and re-used by others. I’ve also always wanted to add more colour, so that’s what we’re doing. One Fine Day will be a preview launch for the new I Love Wednesdays with lots more to come. If you’re in the area or want to have a gander, come say hello and have some tasty treats.

One Fine Day is at Sun Studios 42 Maddox St, Alexandria.

  • Sakura

    It was lovely to meet you at One Fine Day! Your stall was magnificent and filled with so many adorable little details! Have just eaten the delicious cookie you gave me and will be adding that delicious recipe to my collection. Thank you! :)

Keira + Jack {Married}

I get vibes from emails, sometimes I just know that it’s going to be something special, and Keira & Jack’s wedding was indeed something special, they truly did things their own way which was so wonderful to see!

There was something about there ceremony that really struck me, everyone was so present. I didn’t think twice about it at the time, but I remember the joy in taking photos of their friends and family laughing along with the ceremony, enjoying the day and I remembered the sign “no photos during the ceremony please” a little reminder to their guests to actually participate in the day. Now, you could say that I’m biased because I’m a photographer, but having recently been a guest at a wedding for the first time in… oh… about 2 years, I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to enjoy a ceremony without a camera in front of me. You actually get to be much more present and in the moment when you’re not thinking about what you’re taking photos of and I cannot express what a wonderful idea it was by Keira and Jack to do it!

The Country Trader provided such a unique backdrop for their reception, it was like a photographer’s paradise. So many wonderful nooks and crannies and so many gorgeous couches for everyone to relax on. It was a perfect representation of Keira & Jack’s amazing style and attention to detail.

Keira and Jack’s lovely wedding was featured on Rock ‘n’ Roll Bride. Below are some of the people who contributed to making their day.
Ceremony Venue: NSW Writers’ Centre
