The wonderfully talented Penelope from PenelopeRED did an interview with me for her blog and newsletter and it has gone live. It was a fun interview for Penelope and you can check it out at her blog The World of Ms. Penelope Red along with some of her lovely vintage inspired pieces.

I posted a little preview of this shoot last week and finally we have the full shoot. It was a tricky shoot to cull down to just a few favourites. My first cull (and I promised myself to be ruthless) was 150 images, not much of a cull to be honest. But here’s a selection of my favourites that, to me, tell the story of the day and tell the story of the inspiration behind this shoot, Pocahontas.

1) I love the idea of a styled shoot in this manner! And you REALLY rocked it. 2) The location is soo perfect. It seems like an area of land untouched since the real Pocahontas walked the land. *Very nicely done!!*February 1, 2010 – 11:21 am

Thanks for all the love everyone. This was a fun shoot to do, and that location is just sublime, It’s got so many great places to photograph.
Alen, I was born in the former Yugoslavia, so you’d be correct in your guess, though my family moved to Australia when I was 5, so I’m really more of an Aussie than anything else.

Yesterday I was part of a pretty amazing shoot. My friend and make-up artist extraordinaire Natalie Biller & I had been planning on doing a Pocahontas themed shoot for about the last 6 months. To say that I’m happy that we finally got to shoot it is an understatement.
The model was the lovely Amy Lyn Cage who I worked with on what was my first solo fashion shoot and it was lovely collaborating with her again. The stylist was Jess Bellef, who from the very first time I spoke to her was so enthusiastic and created these amazing looks, including making a headpiece for Amy and the hair stylist was Milli Jaksic, who created a look for Amy that was absolutely perfect ‘do and looked flawless the entire day.
I took my instax so I could get a photo of everyone involved and add them to the ever increasing wall of photos we have at home.
I’m still going through all of the photos from yesterday, but I just had to share my favourite from the day.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
