1. Vicky + Jeff // The Loved Up Sessions

Gotta start the blog post with little BMO, oh, how I wish I could keep him! He made an appearance not only at Vicky & Jeff’s loved up session, but also at their wedding (which I seriously can’t wait to share). Vicky & Jeff are really thoughtful, sweet people who are absolutely full of joy. Their session reminded me so much of what I love about taking photos. When people let their guards down and show me who they really are, it really feeds my soul. I feel very fortunate they let us document such an awesome time of their lives.

  2. Vy + Matt // Rose Seidler House Loved Up Session

When I first met Vy & Matt, I met with not just them, but also Vy’s sister Theresa and her boyfriend Pete and Matt’s sister Alexis. What struck me the most about this was the closeness they all shared and how important Vy & Matt’s wedding was to all of them. It would be an understatement to say that Vy & Matt are a amazeballs couple; spending an afternoon with them, and their adorable puppy Molly, at Rose Seidler House for their Loved Up Session was an absolute delight.

Now, they claim not to like PDAs (or public displays of affection for those not down with the acronym lingo) but to see the way that they look at each other is really, truly enough to make you light up and smile. They are goofy, engaging, intriguing, wonderful people who smile with their entire bodies (which I totally didn’t think was possible).

Vy & Matt, thank you for putting your trust in me, even when I made you stand in stairways and under gutters, it was definitely worth the laughs (and the photos, of course!).

  3. So long and thanks for all the fish //2012

I should preface this post with I am a monstrous geek. Absolute. Total. Utter. Geek. And in thinking about the year that was 2012, a Douglas Adams quote from Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy popped into my head:

“The Guide says there is an art to flying”, said Ford, “or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning
how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”- Douglas Adams

2012 was a year of a lot of throwing myself at the ground for lack of a better word, and I won’t lie, it’s left me a little battered and bruised, but 2012, you were a year of personal growth, more than any other. I’ve been lax on blogging, because sometimes growth is hard to quantify, but I have to say thank you so much to each and every one of my wonderful couples. I am beyond fortunate to get the couples that I do, you are all so much a part of my family that I cannot imagine the year that was without you all.

I feel like I tinker in my own little world most of the time and one of my tinkerings this year came in the form of my album templates, that have been so lovingly supported by the photography community, I am so thankful that I can give back to the community and help in some little way.

Thank you all for your support, your hugs, your friendship, your openness, and of course letting me into your lives.
